Our 1680D polyester bean bags are the heavy-duty, everyday-use tier of our outdoor range. The 1680 denier weave is significantly thicker and more abrasion-resistant than standard outdoor polyester — built to handle daily use on patios, in games rooms, around pools, and in commercial settings without losing its shape or colour.
PU-coated for water repellency, UV-treated to resist fading, and mould and mildew resistant. Available in a wide range of colours for both residential and commercial use. What 1680D means in practice
Denier (D) is the measure of fabric thread weight — 1680D is among the heaviest used in outdoor furniture, typically found in military-grade gear and heavy-duty luggage. For bean bags, the practical result is a cover that resists punctures, abrasion, and the general wear that comes with outdoor and commercial use far better than lighter polyester fabrics.
The PU (polyurethane) coating adds water repellency — rain and spills bead off the surface rather than soaking through. Combined with UV treatment, this is a fabric built for Australian outdoor conditions.
