The Non-Inflatable Pool Float

There is no air in the Cabo Pool Float. No pump, nothing to puncture, and nothing to find deflated in the morning. It floats on its bean fill — and polystyrene doesn’t sink, so it still floats in five years. Full-body support in the pool or on the deck, from a durable outdoor bean bag built for the conditions typical inflatables can’t handle.

Marine-Grade Olefin Fabric

Constructed from marine-grade Olefin fabricwater-resistant, quick-drying, and fade-resistant, with 50+ ultra violet protection. Stands up to chlorine, saltwater and harsh sunlight while retaining softness and colour season after season.

Why It Floats Without Air

Water passes straight through a Cabo — that is the design, not a fault. It drains in seconds and the EPS bean fill is what holds you up. Nothing to inflate, nothing to go flat, no pump in the shed. It also means you set the firmness yourself: softer to lie back on, firmer to sit up in.

Durable and Easy to Maintain

Double-stitched seams and childproof safety zippers give it long-lasting strength, and the light weight makes moving it between pool, deck and indoors a one-person job.

Cleanup is straightforward — hose down or spot clean as needed. Eleven colourways, from resort brights to quieter neutrals.

Filling and Care

The Cabo takes 200 litres of standard EPS bean fill, and we don’t sell it. Here is why: couriers charge every 100 litre bag as if it weighed 28 kilograms, so posting you the fill would cost more than the float does. Instead the cover ships flat-packed in a reusable gift bag and you pick the fill up locally — Big W and Spotlight both stock it.

Fill it to about three-quarters, not to the brim — it needs room to move and shape to you. Our five-minute filling guide walks through the rest.

Got mould? No problem. We can’t stop mould — nothing outdoors can. What we can do is make sure it doesn’t wreck the fabric, so it sits on the surface and cleans off. Products like Exit Mould are safe on it. Rinse after each swim to get the sunscreen, salt and chlorine off, hang to dry, and store it undercover between uses. Backed by a one year warranty, with mould & mildew protection.

Suited to Any Setting

  • Private pools and home backyards
  • Resorts, hotels and Airbnbs
  • Indoor relaxation spaces and spa lounges
  • Beachfront decks and outdoor entertaining areas

Works as a pool lounger on the water and as an outdoor bean bag on dry land.

Cabo or Portsea?

Both are non-inflatable pool floats and both use commercial-grade Olefin. The Cabo is the lighter one — 200 litres of fill, double-stitched, easy to move around on your own, and the one most people start with. The Portsea is the big one — 350 litres, 180 × 140 cm, triple-stitched with UV-resistant PTFE thread and a 316 stainless-steel eyelet for tethering, and it’s what goes into resort pools.

One honest note on both: no bean bag is waterproof. To be waterproof it would have to be sealed, and bean bags need airflow to work. These are water repellent and water resistant, and they drain and dry fast — which is what you actually want from something that lives in a pool.

The Cabo Pool Float comes in 11 colours: Capri Blue, Charcoal, Charcoal Stripes, Coral, Light Grey, Lime Stripes, Orange Stripes, Pacific Blue, Pink Stripes, Taupe Stripes and Vivid Orange.

frequently asked

Does it come with filling?
No — our bean bags ship flat-packed and unfilled to keep delivery affordable. Add bean bag filling separately, available from major retailers.
How do I care for my bean bag?
Care depends on the cover fabric — see the Care tab above for your product. In general, remove the cover before cleaning, spot-clean spills, avoid bleach and tumble drying, and line dry in the shade.
Do I need to remove the beans to clean the cover?
Yes — in most cases you take the filling out first, then machine or spot-clean the cover following the care instructions.
