Bean Bag Filling — EPS Beads and Shredded Foam, 100L and 200L
Two fillings, both in 100 litre and 200 litre boxes. EPS polystyrene beads are the classic lightweight bean bag feel, dispatched the next business day from Brisbane. Pure white premium shredded foam is firmer and plusher, dispatched from Sydney.
Which one suits you?
- EPS beads — light, buoyant and quick-drying, with the familiar bean bag give. The right choice for pool bean bags and anything used outdoors.
- Shredded foam — firmer and fuller, holds its shape longer and doesn't rustle the way beads do. Best kept indoors: foam soaks up water and turns heavy.
Either one fits our covers and inner liners — there is nothing proprietary about the filling, and ours fits other brands' bags too.
A word on freight
Filling is almost entirely air. A 100-litre box weighs next to nothing but takes up a lot of room, and couriers price on the space a box takes up rather than what it weighs. That makes freight on filling expensive — sometimes more than the filling itself.
So if you can pick up EPS beads nearby, do. Department stores and Spotlight both sell them in store, and you will have them the same day without paying freight. Shredded foam is much harder to find over the counter, which is the main reason we ship it. When local stock is hard to find, or you would rather have it turn up at the door, buy ours below.

- 96cm bean bags: about 300 litres
- 112cm bean bags: about 500 litres
- Most adult sizes: 200–500 litres
- Kids' bean bags: 100–200 litres

Filling tips
Fill the inner liner to about two-thirds and never overfill it. The filling needs room to move so the bag moulds to you; an overstuffed liner sits hard and strains the seams and the zip. Work with two people in a dry, draught-free room — EPS beads carry static and travel fast — and keep filling away from small children and pets.
